Apr 23, 2009 Sgt Gill Williams - Sponsorship Appeal
You may remember seeing a presentation given by Sgt Gill Williams of Thames Valley Police Specialist Search and Recovery Team at the BASICS Scotland Conference in Glasgow in 2005, about her experiences following the Tsunami.
On her return Sgt Williams set up a charity (www.handsacrossthewater.org.uk) which raised money to build a home and purchase vehicles and vital equipment to help orphans of the disaster. They are currently trying to raise £30,000 to build homes for the children's carers, and in July are cycling 650 miles from Waternish on the Isle of Skye, finishing 8 days later in Marlow, Bucks to help raise this money.
