Mar 10, 2005 Sandpiper Trust 500th Bag
In recognition of the backing of the Scottish Rugby Union and its supporters, HRH The Princess Royal, Patron of the Scottish Rugby Union, was presented with the 500th Sandpiper Medical Bag by two former Scotland rugby captains at Murrayfield before Scotland’s RBS 6 Nations clash against Ireland on 14th February 2005. HRH The Princess Royal presented the 500th bag to Dr Richard Brown of Islay.
The presentation was made by Gavin Hastings, Patron of the Sandpiper Trust and Rob Wainwright, accompanied by Clair Maitland, one of the Sandpiper Trustees.
Gavin Hastings said “We are delighted that HRH The Princess Royal has agreed to present Sandpiper’s 500th bag. This is a significant achievement for Sandpiper and matches anything I did on the rugby field.”
