BASICS Scotland provide Immediate care of skilled medical attention in the pre-hospital setting. This primarily involves attending any medical emergencies that occur on our patch as part of a coordinated response with the other emergency services - primarily, of course, the Scottish Ambulance Service.

The Sandpiper Trust

The Sandpiper Trust, a Scottish Charity, was set up in memory of Sandy Dickson by his parents, family and friends. The primary aim of the Trust is to ensure that all rural GPs in Scotland are provided with essential emergency medical equipment and resources once they have undergone specialist training courses and gained certification from BASICS SCOTLAND, (The British Association for Immediate Care).

The Remote and Rural Care eLibrary

The Remote and Rural Care specialist e-Library provides knowledge support for healthcare staff across Scotland working in the remote and rural environment.  It provides a combination of knowledge resources to support both generalist and specialist needs as well as drawing together remote and rural care resources that have a local, national and international focus.

The Remote and Rural Care specialist e-Library will keep you up to date with developments and initiatives in all these areas.  It also provides tools to share resources, good practice and experience with colleagues and experts in the Remote and Rural Knowledge Network.
